How you can create your own boho wedding

August 27, 2014

What makes a great boho wedding? Your special day can be rustic and charming with just a few key components.

The dress

When it comes to your special day, your wedding dress is a pretty important part. With the perfect gown you'll feel like a bohemian goddess.

When you're shopping around, be on the lookout for soft dresses with lace sleeves or overlay. Choose a dress with a low back or off the shoulder sleeves for a design feature that is subtly womanly.

Shorter dresses are very on trend at the moment, and will give an easy and comfortable (but still completely chic) look.

Seek out a dress that is at once relaxed, effortless and elegant. A garment with a loose structure but detailed embellishment is a great way to go. Also, don't be afraid to step out of the box! Did you find a dress that is off-white or has coloured detailing? Go for it!

Flower crowns can be a fabulous way to instantly make your look more boho. With your hair down in loose waves and a fresh flower crown, you'll look utterly lovely.

Another look you can try is a big, loose braid that has flowers and pearls interwoven through – subtle and utterly pretty. In fact, braids in general are very boho and will help you create your overall look.

A wedding cake with no icing is a simple way to continue that effortless aesthetic. On a raw wood table, include big bouquets of wildflowers, candles and maybe even a potted succulent or two.

An archway, made out of slim tree logs and covered in winding ivy and more flowers, is a great addition. Throw down a couple of rugs and you're away. When you're decorating think layers and texture, with scarves, adornments and furniture in rustic, earthy tones.
