A few tips to stay calm and collected for your wedding day

May 29, 2015

Your wedding day will undoubtedly be one of the most exciting days of a woman's life. It's a time when family and friends come together to celebrate the love shared by you and your partner as you promise to be together for the rest of your days.

Many guests who haven't been involved in the day's planning will turn up to your wedding. In your mind, you may be thinking they have no idea what goes on behind the scenes to make this incredible day happen. In fact, with all the juggling and task-managing you've been doing leading up to the ceremony and reception, you may even want to swap places with them.

Managing your anticipation

These feelings of nerves, fondly nicknamed pre-wedding jitters tend to fade away once you're gliding down the aisle in your stunning wedding gown, with all the smiling faces of your guests looking on.

However, while you're gearing up for the big day, it's not uncommon for tensions to run high – usually because you are trying to create the absolute perfect day and please everyone all at once – an exhausting undertaking.

It's important to know that while the time leading up to your wedding can be a bit of a whirlwind, it's important to take a moment every once in a while to relax.

You can try and keep your high emotions in check by running some simple breathing exercises. This can help to slow your heart rate and calm your mind, allowing you to balance your wedding planning duties with your daily life.

In addition, some people find that yoga classes can be a good source of stress relief, allowing stressed out brides to centre themselves as well as getting in a little exercise. Everyone will have their own coping methods, but remember that your family and friends are there to help.

They will be able to talk you through anything you may be struggling with, and may even be able to shed some light or a new perspective to help you through the bumps in the road to your big day.
